 8-9-2001 -- Shi Zhangchu (Steve):

Dear 7926 friends: How time flies! In 1999 & 2000, more than 12 classmates suggested we have a 7926 classmate reunion in Shanghai in 2003. At that time - 7/2003, we will have been left our college - Fudan University for 20 years.

My dear freind, how many 20 years do we have in our life? We are getting older & older... Do you want to spend your time (1 week or 2 weeks) to enjoy 7926 Classmates Reunion?

If you have suggestions about reunion please let us know. I will post ideas on our site.

 8-10-2001 -- Lian Hui:

Good idea. I'm for it. Just need a little bit time to think about specifics. Since Shanghai is suggested as a location for reunion and I haven't been there for quite a while, perhaps the Shanghai friends can give us a lot of tips about how to make this reunion.

I plan to be in Shanghai late next month, I might call some of you (assuming I have your phone number) to get your ideas/advice. I'll be happy to be a helper to whoever takes the lead on this. At the meantime, enjoy your summer. The summer in the East Coast this year has been surprisingly pleasant.

 8-10-2001 -- Jesse Li:

It is a great idea!!! I will fully support this event if everyone agrees. I suggest that we need to elect or volunteer two committees organizing this event, one in oversea and one in China. I will be in Shanghai at the third week of September. We can discuss more...

 8-11-2001 -- Qi Qi (Steve):

I am all for the reunion in Shanghai. We should all make a concerted effort for the event. Two years can zip by before your realize it. A careful planning is the key to success. As Jesse said, we need one leader on each side of the Pacific. This is the job that requires sacrifice and whoever takes it deserves our most respect. Kudos to Jesse who did a great job last time.

I will try my best to assist even though I am extremely limited in terms of time due to personal reasons. Let's get on to it.

 8-12-2001 -- Wang Xincai (Timmy):

I am in china for most time now. Glad to hear that Wang's family is getting well. I will go anywhere to attend the 2003 reunion.

I visited our dorm building with Guo Hongshen when I was in Shanghai last month.

 8-12-2001 -- Shi Zhangchu:

Our email list needs upgrade, some email addresses are out of service. (Such as Feng Mujing's, Jiang Xiaoming's ...) So if you know updated email address, please tell us.

I agree with Jesse's suggestion & think we need 2 persons at each area (Oversea & China). I recommend Jesse & Lian Hui as oversea leaders, they are very responsible persons.

 8-12-2001 -- Jesse Li:

In June, when I visited Paris and London, I contacted with Feng Mujing.
Her new e-mail address: mujing.fengwang@wanadoo.fr.

Thanks for your recommendation! I suggest that let Lian Hui take the leader in the oversea side. I will fully support her.

 8-13-2001 -- Xu Shuanglong:

It's a good idea. Shanghai has been changed much since these five years. I think we can get a good place for reunion. I'd like to discuss about it. And I can do sth for it.

 8-13-2001 -- Lian Hui:

After careful consideration, I decide not to take this honor as a leader.

2003 reunion is a much bigger event than anything we did in the past. It is essential that everyone gets involved in the planning process. I suggest that we get as many volunteers as possible to plan the event. I will be delighted to be a helper in a team (led by someone other than me:)) to make this happen.

8-14-2001 -- Yu Wei (Julius): More suggestion

8-14-2001 -- Li Shuo Chuan (Jesse):

Thanks for all suggestions and ideas! I recommend Julius taking the leader for 2003 reunion in the oversea side since I already did the first one.

 8-15-2001 -- Lian Hui:

Julius, I think you are in the best position to be the leader and the liaison between China side and overseas. You are more familiar with people in Fudan than any of us. You've been to Shanghai more frequently than any of us.

You also gave a lot more thoughts to this reunion than any of us. I am sure you'll do a fabulous job. Why not just keep the momentum going? I agree to Jesse's recommendation. How about you, Steve? More importantly, Julius, would you be willing to be our captain leading us to the promised land - Shanghai:)?

8-16-2001 -- Feng Jun from Shanghai:

I got our E-mail and would discuss the new reunion with you later!

 8-16-2001 -- Jesse li:

I have good news to report. Finally we get a leader from our oversea camp. Yu Wei (Julius) is graciously willing to take the leadership on planning the 2003 reunion. Everyone is encouraged to join his team to contribute ideas, leg works and so on. Now we are waiting for our leader in China side to emerge. Let's get the momentum going.

Cheers!

8-20-2001 -- Wang Xingcai from China:

Julius: I would not say congratulations because this job is different from any other jobs you take-you just make contribution, but do not have any economic rewards.

I would say "thank you" coz what you will do means a lot to our ever-lasting friendship.

The newletter #1 is really a great job, very professional, very informational. Thanks again!

8-27-2001 -- Feng Jun from Shanghai:

As there will be enough time for you and all 7926 classmates to discuss and implement our next reunion, I think that I will try my best to do the reunion work.

Last week, I talked the reunion issue with Wang Zhan, Songhao and Shuanglong, they all expressed that they would do their best for the reunion.

 8-27-2001 -- Yu Wei (Julius): NewsLetter 2

Great news from Shanghai! I have contacted Feng Jun and Xu Shuang-long. Feng Jun will be my counterpart in Shanghai together with Shuang-long and Wang Zhan to organize this wonderful event!
