Yu Wei: "Let us vote: For Class Reunion -- go Shanghai or stay Las Vegas?"

the essence of the proposed reunion is not the mere Las Vegas gathering.
The essence is to strengthen the friendship.Small group SF meeting or another composed small group NY meeting another time; or Internet forum supported by dozens of terminals scattered throughout the world!"

Fudan Alumni Association of Northern California had a founding meetimg at Los Alto, Ca.
Over 80 Fudanese attended the meeting. Jesse Li & Steve Shi joined the meeting.

1.Since you posted some info/photo of Prof Chen Guan-lie. How about give a section about faculty members of our time. I can provide info as much as I know about.
2. Try to restrain from releasing personal info.
Feb. 22 - Lu Ding's suggestions:1. Some collective photos and writings can be made larger for easier viewing. Or you may want to allow the visitor to click for a zoom-in copy.
2. You may set up a forum for everyone to leave words on the bulletin board.
3. The music is soft and nice. But if you can put in some old songs of that time it would be even more sentimental (e.g. "We are the new generation ofthe 1980s", or some Deng Lijun songs).
4. Chinese characters of names should be there.
5. You may link the page to Fudan's web site. Maybe we can change the page title to: "Alumni Reunion Page for Class 7926, Department of World Economy, Fudan University".

"It is so great to have a web-reunion!" Feb. 28 --Luan Wenbai:After so many years since we said good-by to each other, I still remember Jiang Zeling's words, among others, written on my graduation album: "In a desert of human spirit, sincerity and warmth can still be found". 7926 is not an isolated desert, it is a friendship wonderland.
Before we have the chance to see each other again in person, Cyber reunion is the best way to reunite all of us in the whole world. Please count me as one of the supporters of Wang Yu and Lian Hui's suggestions on providing our personal info on the website. Let me try to take the credit as the first one for sending the personal info to our website.

Good news: Wenbai's second's baby is on the way. The due day is in June 1999.B-Ultrasound predicts: IT IS A GIRL! Wenbai's dream will come true. He has dreamed a girl for many years. HE DID A GOOD JOB!
March 1 -- Shi Zhangchu(Steve):Four years Fudan was the happiest time in our life. Now everyone works hard for money, for business, for family. Well, we need some funs, relationships. Money doen't mean everything. I hope everyone can live longer so I designed 7926 Websites. First let us reunite on the Web.
Over 2/3 email friends gave us responses. So far, so good!
I put many songs in 7926 webpages. It is better to use Netscape to surf.

March 27 -- Yu Wei:"Very interesting to see those statistics. How about give a statistics for how many numbers of degrees we have in total, such as how many BA, BS, MA, MS, PhD, etc. For example, I've got 1 BA, 1 MA and 1 MS. There should be at least 40+ BAs since we all graduated from Fudan.
Some other things that may be also interesting: Anyone married to non-Chinese born? We seem to have a high percentage of Beijing spouse (mine, Qi Qi's, Gu Jian She's, Li Chen Wen's, etc.), I'm not sure."

Well, the results are in -- after an extended and elaborate collecting process. Many of you had been bugged by my incessant phone calls to extract a response. I held to my commitment that this reunion should be a thoroughly enjoyable and stress free experience and gave everyone long enough notice and opportunity to contemplate and plan on their participation.
IT IS TOTALLY VOLUNTARY -- realizing that everyone is sustaining a different level of "freedom". We must follow where our hearts lead us. Remember, this is likely to be a U.S. based debut reunion -- small in scale for now, not a United Nations Consortium yet, which could be a project in the new century. Gosh! That will end the remainder of our life! Will we have enough time?
For me, this is such a just and noble cause that I was willing to put my life and career on hold to make sure it could happen in the best way possible. I am so grateful that many of you shared the same view, and even urged to do it anyway whatever the voting result may be. So here we go:
